Emotions

Talk about things that... scare you, annoy you, offend you, depress you, amuse you, shock you, bore you, relax you, impress you, embarrass you, surprise you, confuse you, interest you Think of a time when you felt one of these emotions and write about it.

-Darkness it the thing that scares me the most.I have always been afraid of darkness since i was a little kid and i still haven't overcome the fear.
-The thing that annoys me the most is when someone doesn't appreciate the things i do for them.
-Sexism offends me a lot.
-Death depresses me.Not being sure what happens after you die is depressing.
-My puppy highly amuses me.It's the thing that makes me feel the most happy.
-Awful people that like making others' feel bad shocks me.
-Doing chores bores me.
-Watching tv shows relax me a lot. After a long day, laying down and watching Gilmore Girls is the thing i'm looking forward most.
-People that speak a lot of languages impress me.
-Falling in public is embarrassing.
-The fact that "surprise" isn't spelled as "suprise" , surprises me.
-People that don't like dogs confuse me.How can you not like those little, cute, innocent things.
-Traveling interests me.

Almost every day i feel offended, mad and powerless in the place that i live in.I have grown up in a culture that thinks sexism is okay and normal. That offends me a lot.Everyday i hear jokes about girls and rape and how men are supposed to be men and it's okay for them to do whatever they want, and i can't do anything about it.Everyone around me laughs at these jokes, even the girls that have no idea how awful that is,and i hate it.Even if i say anything about it i don't get support from anyone because people are so blinded and think that a small joke is harmless but that is not the case. These little "jokes" are actually the reality and me as an individual can't do anything about it except leave this place.

Advantages and Disadvantages(Money Talk)

BANKS

Pros: It's the most traditional and safe way to deposit your paycheck or savings. In banks you have a lot of options.Whether you want a personal savings or checking account, trust fund, or business checking account, most major banks can provide all these services in one place. Also you can obtain personal loan or business loan if you need.
Cons: There are some drawbacks of banking system. Those drawbacks include that you have to pay interest if you borrow the money. Also if you aren't paying the credit card they can go after all your properties and if you are paying late you will be charged with a late fee.

CREDIT CARDS

Pros: They are super convenient, fast and safe to keep your money in.You just need to pull out your card, swipe it and the thing is yours.Credit cards are mostly used for online purchases. Its not possible to pay by cash over the Internet so Credit Cards are essential if you buy things online. The biggest pro about Credit Cards is that they give rewards for high usage such are airline tickets and other goods. You  generally get some points for each time you use a credit card. These points are accumulated and in the end you can buy something with those points.
Cons:  Credit Cards are dangerous for people who have less self control or are shopping freaks. It allows you to wrack up debt easily as you don’t need to apply for a loan. You can have multiple credit cards and carry huge debt. You can be stuck in a debt trap if your monthly earnings can’t cover the interest payments on your credit card debt. Many people get bankrupt and have their life destroyed through credit cards.

BEING RICH

Pros:Who doesn't want to be rich? First of all, you can enjoy a lot of things that money can buy,you don’t have to worry about matters related to money, about your living, for example: fear for losing a job, saving money to raise the child, etc.I think the biggest advantage of being rich is that you can travel the world and decide wherever you want to go to college to without needing to worry about tuition fees and payments. Also a big advantage of wealth is that you are able to give a lot to charities and help a lot of people.
Cons:However, being rich does have some disadvantages, perhaps when you’re rich, a lot of people will be jealous and envy you and that can bring a lot of risk on your life. You will most likely not have real friends because people these days may use you or strive for your weaknesses.
Possibly, you will also become materialistic.
As a matter of fact, things will get boring, since you can afford everything that money can pay, so you will participate on things that can entertain you, for example, risky things like gambling. That’s why there are people who get addicted to gambling.

HAVING A MORTGAGE

Pros:First of all having a mortgage makes the process of owning a home more affordable. For most people, buying a house is the biggest purchase you’ll ever make.A mortgage comes in handy to make the purchase affordable. With a mortgage, you are paying small amounts of money towards the house over many years.Since the payments towards the home are spread over years, the periodic payments are manageable and affordable. And a mortgage is the most cost effective way of borrowing.
Because a mortgage is secured against your property, interest rates tend to be lower than other forms of borrowing. With a mortgage, the lender has the security that if you are unable to repay the mortgage they can sell the property to pay back the mortgage.
Cons:Although mortgages are the most popular form of debt when you want to buy a house, they do come with some disadvantages:For example, the fees.In addition to mortgage interests, you are expected to pay other mortgage fees when getting a mortgage. These fees can be hefty. Also you pay back much more than you borrowed.Like any other loan, mortgage loans come with interest. At the end of the term, you’ll have paid the original loan amount plus accumulated interests.

PENSION SCHEMES

Pros:One of the most obvious advantages of pensions is that when you reach retirement, your pension plan will give you monthly payments for the rest of your life. It's like if you're still getting paid by the company even though you're no longer working.
Cons: But one of the disadvantages is if you run into a financial emergency, you can't count on the pension money to bail you out. That money stays with the employer until you actually retire. The only way to get it early is if you quit.

DIRECT DEBIT

Pros: When it comes to the advantages of paying by direct debit, convenience is always at the top of the list.It is quick and easy way to pay your bills: there are no envelopes to post or checks to write. There are also no worries about overlooking a bill and later being assessed late fees due to a delayed payment. You can simply just forget about it,except for the hole in your bank account that is a constant reminder.
Cons: One of the cons has to do with losing control of the process. While the need to write checks is eliminated, that does not mean the direct debit payments do not need to be tracked. By not doing so could leave a checking account in chaos. In addition, making changes to direct debit payments can be very difficult. For example, if payment dates need to be changed, the time and effort needed to do so can sometimes be overwhelming.

What is the currency in your country?

The currency in my country is the Macedonian Denar.

What is the exchange rate with the Euro/US dollar?

1 Euro is equal to 1.06 US Dollar.

Whats the rate of income tax and VAT in your country?

The Personal Income Tax Rate in Macedonia stands at 10 percent.Along with the Standard VAT Rate stands at 18 percent.

How would society work without money?

It is no secret that money makes this world go round. That little piece of paper is enough motivation for all us to wake up early in the mornings, work all day and stay all night to think of other ways to make even more money. It is a strange currency to be honest. It is also a big headache. In my personal opinion our lives would be much more different IF our society never knew what money is.For starters we would do the job that we LIKE.Not some difficult job that probably the majority of people dread to get up in the morning and go to.They say if you chose the job you love you'll never work a day in your life. And it's very true.

Do you think poor countries should be required to pay their debts to the rich countries?

It depends mostly on the countries that are involved. If the poor country is poor for reasons that the people in it are lets say lazy and don't really work to pay their debts, then there should be consequences. However if the country is truly poor then other rich countries should tolerate and help other countries as much as they can.

The world's richest three men have more money between them than the world's poorest sixty countries-should there be a redistribution? How?

Yes of course there should be redistribution by the men themselves. They should choose differently how they spend their wealth and invest more in charities and to these poor countries.

My new puppy(And how to take care of Jack Russell Terriers)

I got a new puppy for my birthday last month as a gift from my boyfriend. The little pupper is a Jack Russell Terrier and she is so lively. She was ONLY 2 months old.I have always loved dogs but my mom wouldn't ever let me get one. When I saw this little angel I actually cried tears of joy.My mom of course was against it,but do you ever throw a present away? But to be honest the first few days that little angel turned into a semi-devil.At first i thought that it will be impossible to take care of her cause she was so so trouble. She would pee everywhere and would cry all day and night. The poor pupper was stressed and afraid and this was my first experience with dogs and I had no idea what was i doing and what was I supposed to do.It turns out puppies need more love and attention than babies, who would've guessed.I also couldn't take her outside to learn her to potty or for her to exercise because it's winter and it was very cold for her.I was a mess. But as she kinda grew, the crying (kinda) stopped. She has now learned to stay alone and that when i turn those lights off it's bedtime. As for the potty i had no other choice but to force her to go outside. Now she has 50% learned how to potty.I take her outside every 2 hours and she immediately goes,if i don't take her outside she just goes wherever she is.But hey that is major progress.
Also JRT's need a lot of exercise. If you ever want to get a Jack Russel it is very important to really take care of it.You need a strict puppy schedule. This is my schedule for my precious Mickey:
  • I wake up at 7am to feed her(only with healthy special puppy food for JRT's.I feed her with the Royal Canin Jack Russell Terrier and she is very happy.) Then i right away take her outside to do her business.
  • At 10 am i take her outside for her morning exercise.I even bought her a puppy sweater so she can be warm.
  • Until lunch time she just naps on my lap or i take her to her crate if she starts being aggressive
  • At 1pm It's lunch time and I feed her again. Then of course i take her outside to potty again.
  • From lunch time till dinner time at 6pm,i play with her and she takes naps. She empties for the last time after dinner and we play until it's time to sleep.

Most of the time she naps at my lap.
Jack Russell are known for their hunting skills. So yes they can be aggressive. But with good exercise and care they can be tamed, but from a very young age.
After a lot of researching and experimenting I have found that these are the best do/don't advice for Jack Russells:
  1. DON'T ever give in when she whines or cries if left alone.Most of the time when it's not separation anxiety,puppies will only cry just to get your attention and most likely there is nothing wrong with her/him.It is very crucial you teach your puppy that they won't get what they want with crying.For example: When you leave your puppy in it's crate and she/he starts crying.DO NOT even look at the direction of the crate.Show the puppy that you are the leader and that i should listen to you.Of course you do this after you train the puppy to go in the crate and to like the crate.You shouldn't ever force the puppy to do something that they don't want to do.This takes us to number 2;
  2. DON'T force train you puppy! Don't just put a leash on it and drag her with you until the puppy "learns".Or to put her into the new crate and leave the puppy alone for hours. That is abuse.Don't mistake the second point with the first point. You need to be gentle especially with Jack Terriers cause they can be very stubborn if they don't like something. And then when you decide to take it slow and gentle it will probably be to late because you have trained your puppy to actually hate it's crate,or walking on a leash,or whatever.Take slow steps and whenever you see progress praise them with treats!
  3. DO show your Jack Terrier that you are the alpha. This is also very important. If you want your puppy to respect and listen to you, from a very young age you must train it that way.Because most of the time Jack Russell's intend to think that they can dominate you,and if that happens you can never train your puppy right.Because it will have it's own mind and do whatever it wants. And everyone that owns a dog knows that that isn't alright.
  4. DO exercise a lot!! And i mean A LOT.Jack Rusell's are known for being very hyper, and if you don't exercise them they will make a mess around the house. They will go on destructive behavior and no one wants that! Make sure you exercise first thing in the morning so when they go inside they will be tired, satisfied and happy(just like the owner). Then during the day also a 1 hour exercise is necessary and again in the evening a walk around the park or the neighborhood so it will sleep peacefully.

Jazz

Jazz started all in America in the 1900's.And it started with 2 different kinds of music combined together.Classical and Folk.
For many years these kind of music were kept apart, because the people that listened to classical music at that time were more sophisticated and serious, and well the Afro-American(Black Americans) used to be slaves at that time and they would sing folk on their own and the world didn't have a clue.
Finally by the year 1900 the Black Americans were no longer slaves, and most of them moved from the countryside to the city. And that is how classical music met folk in cities like Chicago and New Orleans!
At first people were shocked when they heard the Black Americans folk music. They thought it was weird and it should be stopped. But over the years jazz grew and grew and now today we have many types of jazz.
This is a list of the most famous style of jazz music over the years:

  • Acid Jazz
  • Avant-Garde Jazz
  • Big Band
  • Blue Note
  • Contemporary Jazz
  • Cool
  • Crossover Jazz
  • Dixieland
  • Ethio-jazz
  • Fusion
  • Hard pop
  • Latin Jazz
  • Mainstream jazz
  • Ragtime
  • Smooth jazz
  • Trad Jazz

Classical Music

Classical music is art music that is composed in the classical period(1750's-1830's).
The instruments of the orchestra that helped to compose classical music are 4 from the string section: violin, viola, cello and double bass;8 from the woodwinds:basset clarinet, basset horn, clarinette d'amour, the Classical clarinet, the chalumeau, the flute, oboe and bassoon;2 from the keyboard instruments:clavichord and the fortepiano;and finally 3 from the brass instruments: buccin, ophicleide and the natural horn.

The classical period was the first era in music history in which public concerts became an important and major part of the musical scene. The greatest composers of the enjoyable classical music period are:
1.Carl Philipp Emmanuel Bach (1714–1788)
2.Franz Joseph Haydn (1732-1809)
3.Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791)
4. Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827)

The Classical era was the era of formality. The music was characterized by careful attention to form elegance and restraint. The formal structure was based on the use of thematic development and harmonic structure. The main kinds of instrumental music were the sonata, trio, string quartet, symphony (performed by an orchestra) and the solo concerto.Vocal music, such as songs for a singer and piano , choral works, and opera were also important during this period.
This period in music history is sometimes referred to as "the Viennese Classic period," and it was centered in Vienna. Beethoven, Haydn, and Mozart, though none was a native Viennese, all worked in Vienna for significant periods in their careers. Although Vienna was the focal point for musical activity of the period, classical music is not parochial but universal in spirit and in style.

The classical period ended with the death of Beethoven. It is because at the end of Beethoven's life, his music was so new,it had to be called something else. And so it began the Romantic period.

Leisure

-What are the main leisure activities in the UK/USA?
In the UK,an Euro stat survey discovered that people in Britain spend about 45% of their free time watching television, 24% of their free time socializing, 22-23% on sport and hobbies, and 10% on other activities. Other popular leisure activities are listening to the radio, listening to pre-recorded music, reading, DIY, gardening, eating out and going to the cinema.
However the majority of Americans tend to enjoy more passive leisure activities, such as watching television or going to the movies, as opposed to vigorous activities like aerobics, jogging and weight training. However, the survey did find participation levels for physical activities could increase significantly during the coming years. “Americans clearly enjoy relaxation as a leisure activity, but they also claim they want to be more active in the future,” said Marc Falcone, Bear Stearns leisure analyst. “It will be interesting to see if that desire to get off the couch turns into a reality.”

-What do you understand by the expressions 'quality time',the 'work ethic' and the 'leisure'?
We are all human beings that work for our survival.'Work ethic' is a belief in the moral benefit and importance of work and its inherent ability to strengthen character. An example of good work ethics is coming in to the office on time even if the boss is on vacation. Good work ethics include being a hard worker, not cutting corners, being diligent, having a sense of responsibility, caring about quality and being committed. But after all this work we as living souls need time for 'leisure' and 'quality time'.
Leisure is the free time you spent YOURSELF.
Free time is time spent away from business, work, job hunting, domestic chores and education. It also excludes time spent on necessary activities such as eating and sleeping. In today's constantly connected world, finding solitude has become a lost art. In fact, Western culture tends to equate a desire for solitude with people who are lonely, sad, or have antisocial tendencies. But seeking solitude can actually be quite healthy. In fact, there are many physical and psychological benefits to spending time alone. But not everyone can stay alone every time they are free.Human beings need other human beings. This is 'quality time'.An informal reference to time spent with close family, partners or friends that is in some way important, special, productive or profitable. It is time that is set aside for paying full and undivided attention to the person or matter at hand. It may also refer to time spent performing some favorite activity.
It is important to find that balance between work, alone time, and family/friends time,so we can have a happy healthy life.
